On Finding Humility

June 2018…

I remember the day I purchased these just after I was fired from my job with Abbott.  I remember scrutinizing whether or not I should spend the money on them - especially not knowing how I was going to replace my big pharma paycheck.

Probably the bigger wonderment was how I would ever overcome the humiliation of being fired, not to mention the importance of losing a job title that I allowed to define my worth.

So much has happened since buying these pups.  They have been worn ( a lot) and have been retrieved multiple times from the rag bag.  I'm happy to have kept them.  They are a sweet reminder of how much I have grown as a human and that it is possible (but it might take some time) to forgive yourself for making a mistake.

And ultimately finding your self worth is not defined by a paycheck.
